Campground 101

Your festival wristband includes the price of walk-in tent camping. If you’d like to have your car at your camp spot, you’ll need a separate CAR PASS (if your vehicle is 17’ or shorter), or an RV PASS (if your vehicle is 17’ or longer – does not include hook ups). Alternately, you can park in DAY PARK (small fee or free for carpoolers with 3+), and walk up into the campground with your gear. You can purchase all of these vehicle passes on our TICKETS page.

Camping at the festival is on a first come, first served basis (communal festival camping). There are no reservations for physical camping sites (except for RV power sites with hook ups). You’re guaranteed at least 12’x12’ of space for tent camping. The campground will fill up, so cozy up to your neighbors. If you’ve spread out an area larger than 12×12, you might be asked to share space as more campers arrive. If you want to camp with friends, we encourage you to arrive together, as roping off areas and saving large spaces for latecomers is unfair to other festival-goers. If you’re saving a small spot for a friend or two, kindly confer with your neighbors.

Our Ranger Hub located by the shower/lounge area is your go-to spot for medical, security, information, lost and found, or help with anything. This area is manned 24/7. We want your camping experience to be ridiculously fantastical. Really.

For families with children, located in the NW side of the campground. This is a quiet zone after dark, and kids like to make noise in the morning. So if that doesn’t sound like your style, there are acres of other camping space where you can find your tribe.

Once you have your festival wristband, and your vehicle has the all-weekend in-and-out pass, you can come and go from the festival site as you please.

Hot showers are free from 8am to 8pm each day. The cool down shower station will be open around the clock.

You can play music at your camp (no sound systems or live amplified music), but not so it annoys your neighbors. If noise from your campsite is bothering your neighbors, you’ll be asked to turn it down. If your neighbors are bugging, find one of the firendly Rangers and let them know, or report to the helpers at the Greeter Hut.

Sorry, but absolutely no pets are allowed (except ADA compliant service animals) in the festival campgrounds or festival area. Treat your pup to a vacation at the Joshua Tree Pet Resort, and ask for a festival discount. We love you and your doggies, but they need to stay at home

Wood fires are allowed only in the metal fire ring barrels. It is crucial that fires are extinguished completely before you leave the fire ring. High winds can occur without warning & carry embers.

Use of whisper quiet generators is permitted between 8am & 10pm.
